The next bank generation in your corner.
kiekmo, a new content and mobile service for Hamburg.
Our job was to make a transformational product that would not only change user behaviour and become part of the everyday lives of consumers but also make Haspa’s value chain fit for the future at the same time. In doing so, the aim was to create new services establishing use cases, also beyond traditional banking services, and thus lay the foundations for a digital organisation that is capable of actively helping to shape the future.
What is kiekmo?
Thanks to a sophisticated mobile app, a supporting website and lockers in the bank’s branches, kiekmo allows users to rediscover and experience their environment. Firstly, the content platform is at the heart of this product. It provides users with editorial posts that are tailored exactly to the relevant neighbourhood. In addition, it also offers insider information and news for people in a specific area. Secondly, kiekmo offers a locker service to flexibly store and share objects in HASPA branches. These can be used by anyone free of charge – prompting discussions in the neighbourhood as a result.

Haspa was fully involved in the process from day one. As a result, work was performed quickly and efficiently from start to finish in an agile workflow, which is necessary in the case of such a complex project.
Creating an innovative, authentic brand aimed at a wide target group: name, logo, colours and typography. The project was conceived from A to Z independently of Haspa’s design.
Well-integrated in the local community on any device. The website provides easy access to editorial content. Whether on a mobile device or a desktop computer, users can expect the same clarity as with the app at all times. The website also allows for a greater reach via Facebook to attract potential users to kiekmo.
UX conceptualisation provides useful symbioses. Activities focused mainly on linking different technical and subject areas – the lockers and content had to be bundled into a single app. Interdisciplinary teams covered all possible outcomes based on countless user flows, prototypes and regular user tests.
Your neighbourhood your news:
Hyperlocal news: All content is tailored to the user and their immediate environment. Articles, statistics and key information. Whether this relates to the construction site around the corner or the favourite café of the actor next door – kiekmo allows Hamburg residents to rediscover their environment. Whether you’re looking for a locker or reserving/sending the code to a neighbour, this app is an absolute joy to use thanks to semantic transitions and thoughtful prototyping.
Function meets design
The lockers were designed to ensure that they blend in at the bank’s branches and still express individuality. Design aspects and technical components were simultaneously taken into account at all times – closing mechanisms and their compatibility with the app.
